From Ouarzazate to the Todra Gorges
Your adventure begins with a 4×4 exploration of the Skoura oasis and its magnificent palm grove.
You will then take the famous Road of 1000 Kasbahs
and cross the Valley of Roses, before stopping for lunch
in the Dadès Gorges. The Rose Valley is a picturesque and fertile area nestled in the Dades Valley, famous for the widespread cultivation of the fragrant Damask rose. Every spring (typically May), the region hosts the vibrant Festival of Roses in Kelaat M’Gouna to celebrate the annual harvest used to produce rose water and essential oil.
At the end of the day, you will reach the impressive
Todra Gorges. The Todgha Gorges are a spectacular canyon carved by the Todgha River on the eastern side
of the High Atlas Mountains. They are renowned for their towering, vertical limestone cliffs which can soar up to 300 to 400 meters (nearly 1,300 feet) high. The most dramatic section is a narrow, flat-bottomed passage where the canyon walls are sometimes only 10 meters
(33 feet) apart, creating an awe-inspiring « sky slit. »

From the Drâa Valley to the Gates of the Desert
The journey continues toward the majestic Drâa Valley, with
its countless palm groves. You will stop in Tamgroute.
This is a small village located in the Drâa Valley, about 20 km south of Zagora, in Southern Morocco. The village lies on the old caravan route leading to Timbuktu.
It is also famous for its Zaouïa Naciria and its ancient library.
The pottery tradition in Tamegroute dates back to the 16th century, when artisans from Fez reportedly settled there.
This expertise is carefully preserved and passed down from generation to generation within a handful of pottery families.
The potters use basic, traditional methods, notably shaping the local clay (extracted from the banks of the Drâa River) on potter’s wheels dug into the ground.
You will arrive in M’Hamid El Ghizlane, at the entrance to the Sahara, where you will spend the night in a camp.

From the dunes of M'Hamid to the dunes of Erg Chigaga
After admiring the sunrise, you will venture into the dunes on a camel ride. In the afternoon, a 4×4 excursion will take you to the majestic Erg Chigaga dunes, a vast desert spanning 40 km². Erg Chegaga is Morocco’s largest and wildest area of sand dunes, located in the remote southeastern Sahara Desert.Reaching heights of up to 60 meters, the dunes offer a spectacular, expansive landscape, feeling far more isolated than its northern counterpart, Erg Chebbi.Its extreme remoteness, accessible only by 4×4 vehicles from M’Hamid El Ghizlane, ensures an authentic and tranquil desert experience.
Due to its lack of light pollution, Erg Chegaga is renowned as one of the best locations in Morocco for breathtaking stargazing and viewing the Milky Way.
You’ll witness an unforgettable sunset before spending the evening around a campfire under a starry sky, in the company of the nomads.

From Erg Chigaga to Ouarzazate
You will leave the desert by crossing the dried-up Lake Iriqui
and the rocky plains, looking for fossils.
Lunch will take place in Foum Zguid, then you’ll take the road toward Taznakht, the capital of the Berber carpet.
Next, you will visit the Kasbah of Aït Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
The tour will conclude with a visit to the Ouarzazate film studios before you are transferred to your Riad or the airport.
